Amitiza Side Effects

Some of the most common side effects of Amitiza include nausea, diarrhea, and headaches. In most cases, people have no problems and side effects are generally easy to treat. However, serious Amitiza side effects are possible, which require immediate medical attention. Notify your healthcare provider if you develop severe or persistent diarrhea or signs of an allergic reaction, such as a rash, wheezing, or difficulty swallowing.

An Introduction to Amitiza Side Effects

Just like any medicine, Amitiza® (lubiprostone) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the medication will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If Amitiza side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.
