Zelnorm Warnings and Precautions (Cont.)

Who Should Not Take Zelnorm?

You should not take Zelnorm if:
 
  • You are allergic to Zelnorm, tegaserod, or any inactive component used to make Zelnorm. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients used to make Zelnorm.
     
  • You have severe kidney problems, including kidney failure (renal failure).
     
  • You have moderate to severe liver problems, including liver failure (hepatic failure) or cirrhosis.
     
  • You have ever had a bowel obstruction (an intestinal blockage).
     
  • You have ever had gallbladder disease or sphincter of Oddi dysfunction (a problem of the pancreas and bile ducts).
     

Zelnorm Precautions and Warnings: Summary

There are a number of situations in which Zelnorm should not be taken, as well as a number of precautions and warnings to be aware of before starting Zelnorm. However, it is possible that not all the warnings or precautions for Zelnorm were discussed in this article.
